Kubernetes & platform engineering

I build Kubernetes environments and help teams bring existing clusters under a common configuration and release process.

What I can take on

Cluster and environment design

Define the roles of clusters and namespaces, resource allocations and network boundaries. Work out how teams get access and which parts of the platform they are responsible for.

Configuration and GitOps

Put shared component definitions in Git, with explicit environment and cluster overrides. Use Helm and Argo CD to review changes and keep managed resources aligned with their intended configuration.

Testing and releases

Give upcoming changes a path through development and test before production. Define the checks, reviews and communication that application teams need before an upgrade.

Platform operations

Set up monitoring, alerting and logging for shared components. Document routine maintenance, known exceptions and the information needed to troubleshoot a problem.

Typical deliverables

  • Cluster configuration, access rules and component definitions in version control
  • A release process with defined environments, checks and responsibilities
  • Monitoring and operating documentation for the platform team

Make differences visible and upgrades predictable

Some cluster differences serve a purpose. A common definition with explicit overrides makes those exceptions easier to understand. A staged release process then gives application teams time to check upcoming changes before they reach production.
